Jancis Robinson 18 points “Meaty and transparent. A real lightness of touch in the winemaking here. Bravo! Solid ingredients are given a freshness and spin. The rich fruit is transparent and somehow refreshing. Tannins are very definitely present.”

All organically farmed and certified by EcoCert. Domaine Berthet Rayne is located in the heart of the Chateauneuf-fu-Pape appellation, has been in the family for 4 generations. Owner Laure Berthet Rayne owns 25 hectares of vines. The majority of their vines are situated in the Chapouin, Coudoulet and La Gardiole lieux-dits in the northern part of Chateauneuf du Pape. Much of their terroir consists of clay and chalk soils. Their oldest vines are more than 100 years of age.
100 % Grenache Sweet black cherry and black raspberry fruit, incense, camphor and licorice aromas, jump from the glass of this elegant, pure, full-bodied, luxuriously fruity, extravagantly concentrated wine. Beautifully balanced with fresh acids and a long finish, it , too, should drink well for 10-15 years.

The vinification process benefits from the use of a modern equipment : a light pressing and destalking for certain vintages ; with fermentation carried out at automatically regulated temperatures – all give our wines a more delicate and fruity flavor and allow them to age well. Winemakers: Laure Berthet Rayne & Martial Capeau
